The Office of the Federal Public Defender accepts law student interns during the summer and the academic year. As our Office focuses on the representation of indigent individuals accused of committing federal crimes, preference will be given to candidates seeking future employment in criminal defense. Interns work closely with staff attorneys on substantive issues at the pretrial, trial, and appellate levels. Although interns are unpaid, our Office will coordinate with law schools to ensure internship/externship credit if possible.
